Michigan RV Insurance

Your RV is part vehicle, part home — and neither your auto nor your homeowners policy fully covers it. RV insurance protects the motorhome or trailer, your liability on the road, and the belongings and attachments that make it yours.

What we do for rv insurance clients

  • Coverage for your RV type — motorhomes (Class A, B, C) and towables — travel trailers, fifth wheels, and campers.
  • Full-timer coverage — if you live in your RV, we add the liability and contents coverage a part-time policy leaves out.
  • Attachments and belongings — awnings, satellite gear, and the contents inside.
  • Lay-up and multi-carrier shopping — seasonal savings plus comparison across RV markets.

RVs we cover

Class A, B, and C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, pop-ups, and truck campers — for weekend trips, seasonal use, and full-time living across Michigan and beyond.

What RV insurance covers

  • Physical damage — collision and comprehensive for your motorhome or trailer.
  • Liability — injury or damage you cause while driving a motorhome.
  • Contents & attachments — belongings, awnings, and installed equipment.
  • Full-timer liability — home-style liability if you live in the RV.
  • Roadside & emergency expense — towing and lodging after a covered breakdown or loss.

Common questions

Does my auto insurance cover my RV?

A drivable motorhome needs its own RV policy — auto insurance isn't built for it. Towable trailers get limited liability from the tow vehicle's policy, but their contents and physical damage need a separate RV policy.

Do I need RV insurance in Michigan?

Motorhomes you drive must be insured like any vehicle. Towables aren't required by the state, but lenders require coverage on financed units and it's well worth protecting the trailer and its contents. We write both.

What is full-timer RV coverage?

If your RV is your primary residence, full-timer coverage adds the personal liability and contents protection a standard RV policy doesn't include — closer to what a homeowners policy would provide. We set it up if you live on the road.

How much does RV insurance cost in Michigan?

It depends on the RV's type and value, how you use it, and whether you full-time. Seasonal lay-up lowers the cost for weekend and summer users. We shop RV carriers to find your best combination of coverage and price.
